Debbie Wesley is a character in the Netflix series, Teenage Bounty Hunters. She is the mother of Sterling and Blair and married to Anderson Wesley.
Biography[]
Early Years[]
Debbie didn't grow up in a wealthy household and she claims that she lost her family in an accident when she was 16. In reality, Debbie grew up in Nandina, Georgia, with her twin sister Dana Culpepper. Nandina was a very poor, conservative town, and Debbie escaped her old life to live a new one.
Now, Debbie lives in Atlanta, Georgia, with her husband, Anderson Wesley, a daughter and one adoptive daughter Sterling and Blair. Their family is well off and religious.
Season One[]
Debbie and Anderson are furious when they find out the girls crashed their father's truck. They demand they get jobs to pay for the repairs. Debbie wants her daughters to learn their lessons in order to be strong individuals.
Debbie hosts several events for her friends and frequently attends church. When she finds out that Sterling had intercourse relations, she is shocked and disappointed at first but in the end is supportive and tells Sterling the most important thing is that she feels she can talk to her about anything.
Debbie starts to act strange, which doesn't go unnoticed by Blair. Blair follows Debbie and sees her go to a storage unit, find a bunch of money, shoot a gun, and scream on the phone. However, Debbie lies to Blair and Sterling about her whereabouts and keeps everything a secret.
Her relationship with Anderson gets strained as Debbie seems to get more stressed. Anderson puts pressure on Debbie to tell her secrets, but Debbie asks him to push it off a little longer.
At the end of Season One, it's revealed that Debbie didn't grow up in Savannah, Georgia, but rather in a poor town called Nandina. There, she grew up in a conversative household with her twin sister, Dana Culpepper. Dana burned down an abortion clinic and went on the run, leaving Debbie to try to help her sister financially.
It's also revealed that Sterling is Dana's actual birth daughter, leaving us to assume that Debbie adopted Sterling as her own and raised her as a twin.
Personality[]
Debbie is an outgoing, outspoken woman with a lot of love in her heart. She is strict with the girls and it's clear that she expects a lot- but she wants to be hard on them so that they're stronger and succeed in life.
With her friends, she can be fake at times because she really cares about appearances and wants her family to have a good reputation.
